PROFIT CALCULATOR
on the math
Etsy doesn't take one fee. There's the transaction fee, payment processing, listing fees, a regulatory fee depending on your country, and VAT on top of those. The calculator gathers all of it on one screen and recomputes your net margin live as you move the price.

THE PROBLEM
A listing that sells for $50 does not earn $50. Etsy takes a transaction fee, a payment processing fee and a listing fee; in Turkey, the UK and Germany there is also a regulatory fee and VAT charged on top of those fees. Most sellers never see the total, and assume their margin is better than it is.
THE FIX
Enter your product cost, shipping, ad budget and discount rate; the calculator adds every Etsy line item on top and returns net profit and net margin. The donut chart shows what each item takes, so where your margin goes stops being a guess and becomes something you read.
THE DEDUCTIONS
Rates come from Etsy's own published schedule; the ones that vary by country are modelled separately.
Etsy's cut per sale. Identical across all five tiers.
Etsy Payments' percentage plus its flat fee. At low prices the flat part eats a disproportionate share of the margin.
The listing and renewal fee per item. With auto-renew on, a single sale can trigger more than one renewal.
Turkey 1.15% · UK 0.25% · Germany 0.5%. Not charged in the US and Canada tiers.
Turkey 20% · UK 20% · Germany 19%. Charged on the FEES, not on the sale price.
Estimate shipping cost from package dimensions and enter an ad budget per sale — both feed straight into net profit.

The tool's own screen: the sale price goes from 50 to 68 and both the net margin and the donut chart recompute on the spot.
HOW TO USE IT
Choose the country your shop sits in; the transaction, regulatory and VAT rates are set from that tier.
Product cost, shipping, discount and ad budget. If you don't know the shipping cost, estimate it from the package dimensions.
Drag the sale price; net profit, net margin and the break-even price recompute on every change.
BREAK-EVEN
Net margin is a result; the real question is usually the inverse — "what is the least I can charge and still not lose money?" The calculator returns that as its own output, so when you plan a discount or think about matching a competitor you aren't guessing where the floor is.

They are modelled from Etsy's published schedule and live in one place in the code. When Etsy changes its schedule, both the tool and this page update from that same source; if you spot an inconsistency, tell us.
There are five tiers for now: the US, Turkey, the UK, Germany and Canada. If you're somewhere else, pick the tier closest to your fee structure and read the result as approximate. We would rather be visibly incomplete than present the wrong tier as correct.
No. The calculator is 0 credits and included on the free plan. It generates nothing; it only calculates.
In your browser's own storage. They stay on that device and in that browser, so you'll need to re-enter them if you switch machines.
It takes the larger of the dimensional weight and the real weight as the billable base, which is the rule carriers use. It is still an estimate: if you have a negotiated rate, entering it by hand gives a truer answer.
