Square Print Sizes in Pixels
Square prints run from 8×8 to 20×20 inches. Since width and height are equal, one number does: a 20×20 master at 300 DPI is 6,000 × 6,000 pixels, and a 12×12 at 300 DPI is 3,600 × 3,600.

Pixels = inches × DPI, rounded to the nearest whole pixel. 300 DPI is the print-shop standard for prints seen up close; 200 is fine on a wall; 150 is the floor. Etsy itself sets no DPI rule.

What pixel size is a 12×12 print at 300 DPI?
3,600 × 3,600 pixels. The 20×20 size needs 6,000 × 6,000 and the small 8×8 needs 2,400 × 2,400.
Does a square file print at any square size?
Yes, without cropping. Only the DPI changes: a 3,600 × 3,600 file is 300 DPI at 12×12 and 180 DPI at 20×20.
Can I sell a square image as a 2:3 print?
Only by cropping a third of it away or adding borders. If you want both, export two files: the square and a recomposed 2:3 version.
