The digital products that keep selling in 2026 are the same broad families as before: printable wall art, digital paper and patterns, planners and templates, coloring pages, clipart and stickers, printable games, and craft patterns. What has changed is how crowded each one is. A broad search like "digital download" returns more than 11 million Etsy listings at a median price of $4, so the useful question is no longer what to sell but which narrow version of it still has room.

Below are 15 digital product searches measured against live Etsy results, followed by what each category needs from you to compete.

How we measured

We used Optimsy's Goldmine, which reads Etsy's live search results for a phrase. For each search:

  • Listings is Etsy's own count of active listings for that search.

  • Median price and new listings come from the top 100 results Etsy ranked for it. "New" means first listed in the last 30 days.

The new-listing figure is the least obvious and the most useful. A high number means page one changes often and newcomers get seen; a low number means established shops hold the top spots. Neither is good or bad on its own: a fast-moving page is easier to enter but also easier to fall off.

Measurements were taken between 1 October and 4 November 2026.

Three patterns are worth noticing.

  1. Price follows the occasion, not the effort. Wedding templates had the highest median price on the list ($12.36). Buyers pay more when the product is tied to an event they care about.

  2. Planners and printable games churn fast. Half or more of the top 100 were new. That makes them easy to enter and hard to stay in; you need a steady release schedule.

  3. Some categories are held by incumbents. Only 6 of the top 100 "tv frame digital art" results were new. Breaking in there takes a clear point of difference, not just another listing.

Printable wall art

The biggest family, and the one with the widest price range, because many "wall art" searches mix printed posters and digital files. Buyers want files they can print at standard frame sizes without cropping, so a good printable comes in several ratios (2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11:14 and ISO A sizes) at 300 DPI.

Digital paper and seamless patterns

Low price per item ($4.29 median for digital paper), high volume, and buyers who buy in bulk: scrapbookers, crafters, sublimation printers. Sell coordinated sets, state the size and DPI (12 × 12 in at 300 DPI is the norm), and show the pattern repeated, not as a single tile.

Planners and templates

Planners turn over quickly (51 of the top 100 "printable planner" results were new). Templates for events and businesses can carry higher prices. Both depend on the buyer being able to edit or print easily, so the delivery file and instructions matter as much as the design.

Coloring pages and coloring books

Single pages are cheap ($2.99 median for "coloring pages"). Books and themed bundles do better, and narrow themes are dramatically less crowded: 3,887 listings for "anxiety relief coloring book" against 199,827 for "coloring book pdf". The same pages can also be sold as a paperback on Amazon KDP.

Clipart and digital stickers

Buyers are usually makers who will reuse your art in their own products, so they look for transparent PNGs, consistent sets and a clear statement of what use is allowed. Sets sell better than single images.

Printable games and craft patterns

Party and classroom games sell around occasions and turn over fast. Crochet and sewing patterns are a different business: the value is in the instructions, not the image. Etsy's AI policy, updated in October 2026, does not allow AI-generated instructional patterns (knitting, crochet, sewing and similar), and these listings need at least one real, unedited photo of a finished piece made from the pattern.

How to choose your first product

  • Pick a buyer before a format. "Teachers planning a classroom party" leads you to printable games; "brides on a budget" leads to wedding templates.

  • Check the narrow search, not the broad one. The broad term is always crowded. Look at the version with a theme, an age or an occasion added.

  • Plan for bundles. At a $3–$5 median, one file rarely pays for the work. Sets and bundles do.

  • Disclose AI if you use it. Etsy requires a note in the listing description for items made with AI, and does not allow AI-generated instructional patterns or mass-automated listings.
