Which file prints 5×7

5×7 is not one of the six standard wall-art ratios, so no ratio file fits it exactly. The closest is the A series ratio: printed to fill 5×7, a file in that ratio loses 1% of the image, about 0.07 inches (1.8 mm) off its height.

Frequently asked questions

How many pixels is a 5×7 at 300 DPI?

1,500 × 2,100 pixels in portrait, 2,100 × 1,500 in landscape. At 200 DPI a 5×7 is 1,000 × 1,400 pixels and at 150 DPI 750 × 1,050. A 5×7 is looked at up close, in a hand or on a desk, so 300 DPI is the resolution to export at.

Which file ratio prints a 5×7?

5×7 is not one of the six standard wall-art ratios. The closest is the A series ratio: printing an A4 file to fill a 5×7 trims about 1% of the image, roughly 0.07 inches off the height. In practice an A4 master covers a 5×7 almost without loss.

Can I print a 4×6 or 8×10 file at 5×7?

Only with a visible crop. A 4×6 file is 2:3, longer than 5×7, so about 7% of it is trimmed from the top and bottom. An 8×10 file is 4:5, wider, and loses about 11% from the sides. The crop shows most in text and borders near the edge.
